Trojan horse

A Trojan is a type of malware that disguises itself as a useful application in order to gain access to a computer system or carry out harmful actions. The name Trojan goes back to Greek mythology, in which the Greeks built a wooden statue of a horse to invade and conquer the city of Troy.
A Trojan can enter a computer system in various ways, such as through downloads of infected files, email attachments, drive-by downloads and social engineering attacks. Once the Trojan is installed on the computer, it can steal information, crack passwords, send spam emails, remotely control the computer, delete files or use the computer for DDoS attacks.
Trojans are often used by cyber criminals to gain access to confidential information or for financial gain. It is therefore important to have an anti-virus program on your computer to detect and remove Trojans before they can cause any damage. It is also advisable to ensure that all applications and operating systems are up to date and that no suspicious downloads or email attachments are opened.
