Cybercrime refers to criminal offenses that are committed using computer systems, the internet or other digital technologies. These crimes can be committed by individuals, groups or organizations and can take a variety of forms, including:
Phishing: The attempt to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords or credit card numbers through fake websites or emails.
Malware: Malicious software that is installed on a computer to steal data, damage the system or gain access to the system.
Ransomware: Malware that locks the victim system and demands a ransom to unlock the system.
Denial of service attacks: Attacks that aim to overload a website or network with traffic in order to make it inaccessible to users.
Identity theft: The theft of personal information to access bank accounts, credit cards or other online accounts.
Cybercrime has increased considerably in recent years due to the increasing use of computers and the Internet. The police and other law enforcement agencies have set up special departments to combat cybercrime in order to identify criminals and bring them to justice. It is also important that each individual takes measures to protect themselves from cybercrime, for example by using strong passwords and protecting their personal information.
